Information about gentrification in BelgradE

The rubber duck is the symbol for the deception of the Serbian government. It wants to build the mega construction project „Beograd na vodi“ (Belgrade on water) with a major investor from the United Arab Emirates. Covering an area of 180 acres, luxury apartments, shopping centers and office buildings shall be built right on the river Sava, whereas most Belgrade residents cannot afford an apartment in this area.

The group „Ne da(vi)mo Beograd“ opposes gentrification, the arbitrary change of city plans as well as the non-transparent project. What is „Beograd na vodi“? What is the protest about? And what does „Ne da(vi)mo Beograd“ mean?
